Amudham Matriculation Higher Secondary School is the brain child of the freedom figher. Thiyagi D.Dharmakkan and his affectionate wife Mrs. D.Amirtham. They themselves were teachers and served the community in the very remote place called Kannirajapuram, a coastal village in Ramnad district, where they uneducated. This burning compassion and concern for the downtrodden was seen throughout their life and all the time they were cheerful and did all in their power with eagerness without a tint of remorse. It was their lofty aim that quality education should reach every individual child.

The limited number of students in each class makes faculty to give their undivided attention to every individual. Frequent orientation is given to all to understand the highly competitive situation around them and to motivate them to achieve their goal. Their hidden talents are brought out and the school gives them moral strength and encouragement and equip them to face with confidence the challenging changes taking place in their lives as well as in the world around them. Children are born to succeed only.

The school has much faith in the physical fitness and well being of the students also. That's why it gives equal importance to sports and games activities for every student. The vast play ground located in an ideal atmosphere takes care of the children's physical fitness and vibrant growth. The visit of the yoga master adds beauty by relaxing the mental stress and strain.

In its endeavor to impart value education, school takes care to instill in them noble ideals like discipline, dignity of labour, co-operative spirit, colletive responsibility, commitment, respect for parents and other values crucial to the development of the individuals as whole.

For Amudham, this new academic year will be a year of hope, success and achievements, because it enjoys the continued good wishes, blessings, prayerful support, valuable participation and suggestions from one and all, especially from the parents. It marches with vigor for the betterment of the young minds. In all its glory, still it looks up on the beautiful memories of Thiyagi D.Dharmakkan and Mrs.D.Amirtham that grace the lives to inspire and guide. 'Amudham' bow before them, without whom, this would not have possible.
